This project was done in collaboration with Mr. Shubham Jadhav (doctoral candidate at Cornell University) and Mr. Harshvardhan Gupta (doctoral candidate at IISc) for the open day 2018 at the Institute. We developed levitation techniques using acoustic radiation forces and used the levitators to manipulate Styrofoam particles and water droplets in air. Though it was developed as a fun stuff, one can do a plethora of work using them. One such direction in clinical practice can be the development of acoustic robots capable of carrying noninvasive micro-surgeries inside the body.
